Dr. Robert Barkin

07/10/40 - 03/12/2026 (Age - 85)

Bob “Doc” Barkin was an honorary member of Blue Knights IL‑X until that chapter disbanded in January 2016. Shortly afterward, Bob—along with Terry Agnoath, Mac McCarthy, Gil Farrow, Larry Bakanec, and Bill Walt—transferred to our chapter, WI‑XI, where he quickly became a respected and trusted brother.

As an honorary member, Doc’s presence carried real meaning. He was steady, thoughtful, and always supportive of the friendships and camaraderie that define the Blue Knights. His connection to our members and his long-standing commitment to the organization made him an important part of our chapter’s history.

We are grateful for the time we shared with Doc and for the brotherhood he brought with him. He will be remembered with respect and appreciation. Ride in peace, Brother.

Bob’s Obituary

Dr. Robert Barkin, 85, Beloved husband for over 60 years to Diana, nee Geifman; devoted father of Stacie Barkin and Stephanie Barkin (Matthew Colrain); proud Papa of Sydney “Sunny” Barkin-Colrain; loving dog-grandpa of Ben; will be missed by friends and colleagues. Bob was a talented pharmacologist and a pioneer in the field of pain management. He achieved his goal of 5,000 medical citations before he passed. Dr. Barkin traveled the world with Diana, giving lectures and exploring. Above all, he loved his family deeply- he will be sorely missed.
